Source: ANZECC \& AWRC
RIVER is a channel which allows water to flow from one point to another point Water is the most precious resource in our day to day lives. It is needed for domestic, industrial and agricultural purposes. Water comes from precipitation (rain in all its forms) and most of it ends up in rivers and streams on its way to the oceans. The various processes involved are all shown on the diagram above.
